LILIAN BORGES, LPC
Therapy for Personal and Relational Healing
This is not talk-only therapy
I use an array of techniques to help my clients with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, pain management, weight management, smoking cessation, etc. Some of my approaches include Ericksonian hypnosis, cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindlfulness, and Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy (PACT) in an accepting, goal-oriented, and dynamic practice. I have found that in particular hypnosis integrates well with many other treatment modalities and becomes a major asset to my clients.
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy can help you overcome obstacles to well-being, manage symptoms of anxiety or depression, develop healthy coping mechanisms, and improve your
quality of life.
Couples Therapy
We all struggle with communication, expectations, disappointments, and crises, and I can provide the first step
in understanding yourselves as a
couple and getting more from your relationship.
Hypnosis
Hypnosis induces a deeply relaxed, focused state of attention, allowing you
to become more receptive to
suggestions that facilitate behavioral change, pain management, and emotional healing.
LILIAN BORGES, LPC
I am a clinician, teacher, and trainer and I've been providing psychotherapy and education to individuals and couples since 1993. Based in Phoenix, Arizona, I maintain a private practice serving adults and couples, in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. My multicultural background means that I'm especially skilled in working with diverse couples and individuals.
I practice hypnotherapy with patients that present problems like anxiety, depression, weight management, smoking cessation, stress and pain management, etc., and I'm one of only a few psychotherapists who use hypnotherapy with couples.

There are always issues that arise for all couples, regardless of orientation or marriage status. We all struggle with communication, expectations, disappointments, assumptions, and crises. I can help you take the first step in understanding yourselves and getting more from your relationship.
GROUPS & WORKSHOPS
Weekly meeting groups for couples, and weekend workshops, can be an ideal choice for addressing your concerns and making positive changes in your life together. Some groups can focus on a specific problem while others are more general in scope. Workshops are didactic and teach coping skills.

NOT SURE WHERE TO START?
Attachment styles are four distinct, learned patterns of emotional bonding formed in early childhood. They include Secure, Anxious-Preoccupied, Dismissive-Avoidant, and Disorganized/Fearful-Avoidant, dictating how individuals trust, communicate, and feel safe.
You and your partner can fill out my attachment style worksheet and start figuring out some of the issues that might be playing out in your relationship. (It also works for individuals!)
